The Fox and the Grapes

Story: The Fox and the Grapes

Once upon a time, a hungry fox saw some juicy grapes hanging from a vine. He wanted those grapes so badly!

The fox jumped and jumped, trying to reach the grapes. But no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't get them.

Finally, the fox gave up and walked away. As he was leaving, he said, "Those grapes are probably sour anyway!"

Moral:

The moral of the story is that sometimes we can't have everything we want. Instead of being sad or angry, we can learn to be happy with what we have.

Discussion Questions:

1. What did the fox want?

2. Why couldn't the fox get the grapes?

3. What did the fox say about the grapes at the end?

Activities:

1. Drawing:

Have the children draw a picture of the fox and the grapes.

2. Role-Playing:

Act out the story with the children, taking turns playing the fox.

3. Sequencing:

Cut out pictures of the story and have the children put them in order.
