Earth Day



Earth Day is an Annual Global Event celebrated on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. 

It's a day when communities worldwide raise their voices for clean air, healthy oceans, thriving forests, and a livable future. 


 Importance of Earth Day - 

1. Introduces Environmental AwarenessTeaches care for nature.

2. Fosters Responsibility: Encourages small actions for big impact.

3. Promotes Sustainability: Habits like recycling, conservation.

4. Develops Empathy: Appreciation for the planet and creatures.

5. Encourages Outdoor Exploration: Nature walks, gardening.

6. Builds Community: Shared values, activities.  


Activities:-

Activity 1: Craft & Rock Painting -

Rock Painting:-


Things Needed:

  • A Rock/ Stone
  • Water colours/Crayons


How to do:

1. Clean the rocks: Wash and dry the rocks thoroughly.

2. Prepare your design: Sketch your design on paper or lightly on the rock.

3. Paint your design: Use paints to bring your design to life.


Activity Tips:

1. Use eco-friendly materials: Choose safe materials for the environment.

2. Encourage creativity: Let kids express their creativity and imagination.

3. Make it fun: Play music, sing songs, and have fun while creating.

4. Display their art: Showcase their artwork in a special place.

4. Identify Trees

Teach students to identify basic tree types (e.g., oak, maple, pine).

5. Discuss Importance: 

Explain the importance of trees (oxygen, shade, habitat).

6. Tree Drawing: 

Have students draw their favorite tree.

Activity 3: Speech: Earth Day -

Activity 4: Clean up drive:

Clean up the drive -

Preparation:

1. Choose a safe location (school premises, park, or nearby area).

2. Gather materials (gloves, trash bags, recycling bags).

3. Explain the activity's purpose and rules.


How to do:

1. Divide students into groups: Assign small groups with adult supervision.

2. Demonstrate proper techniques: Show how to pick up trash and sort recyclables.

3. Clean-up activity: Students collect trash and recyclables.

4. Sort and dispose: Teach students to sort waste correctly.

"Om" (or "Aum") is a sacred sound in many spiritual traditions, symbolizing the universe, unity, and peace. Chanting "Om" is believed to:
