*Describe yourself as a*

Person:   Ambitious,   Fun loving,   Enthusiastic,    Optimistic.
Basically, I am a very ambitious, simple, and fun-loving person. I prefer taking things as they come on my way. I always love to add enthusiasm to whatever I do; I strongly believe that enthusiasm is the strongest key to enjoying your work.
The second key which is also a master key of your work and success is to be “Optimistic”.
The Quote that drives me:

“WHEN IT RAINS LOOK FOR RAINBOWS, WHEN IT’S DARK LOOK FOR STARS”.

Teacher:   Innovative,   Responsible,    Selfless
I think a teacher should be a perfect combination of being Innovative, Responsible, and above all Selfless.
As a teacher, I, continuously encourage myself to be ‘Innovative’ in all that I do for my students.
I also underline my quality of being ‘Selfless’. I am always ready to look and deliver beyond myself.
I consider myself ‘Responsible’ for the students I teach. I am also responsible for the institute that I work with.

*Who / what was your inspiration to be a teacher?*

Since my early childhood, I was too much fascinated by all my teachers. Each and every teacher who has taught me has played an important part to shape my personality as a human being and also as a teacher. All my teachers have had a strong impact on me, some teachers inspired me by the way they loved their children, some inspired me by the way they explained their lessons, some inspired me by their Aura, and Some inspired me by the vision they had.
I was and am inspired by various qualities of teachers.

*Your journey from the day you started your work till today*

I started my journey in the year 1992, as an assistant teacher at a play school.  From day one, my excitement towards my work was reflected amongst my colleagues and the management. My carrier took a flight and I was appointed as a teacher at a well-known school.
My habit of working with passion and dedication paid off and soon I was the co-ordinator of the Nursery section.
I have always treated my work with great respect. I was blessed to have excellent mentors in my life. My work, my ideas, my actions, and my dreams were always appreciated.
This appreciation was so much deep-rooted in me, that it helped me to rise after every fall.
Today I am the Founder & Director of “Small Wonders” which is my biggest dream.

*Any challenges with the students & what became the turning point of your life?

My life is full of twists and turns, ups and downs. My journey has been very very challenging and adventurous. For every achievement that I made, there was lot of struggle to make.
The main turning of my life was when my biggest dream (To make my own Play House) laid its first foundation stone.

My dream was now in progress and this was the biggest turning point of my life, I knew there was a beautiful life, a life which I had thought of, was just at the corner of this turn and it was true.
Small Wonders is not only a Play School to me,  but it is a large platform, where  I  have the future of my country in my hands, where I can put my thoughts into action, and where, I believe, my small, baby steps will make a big change in the society.

2nd Turning Point: Was to meet one of my greatest inspirations, Dr. Swati Popat Vats Maam and become the Territory Head of the Early Childhood Association.  This association is very close to my heart because it does the work that actually makes a difference in our country in the field of Early Childhood.
My association with ECA has redefined my meaning of Education. It has helped me turn mirrors into windows.

*The role of your family in this journey*

The role of my family is very important. I am more than blessed to have encouraging parents and even more encouraging in-laws and husbands. My dad was and is a great support to me. He always encouraged my dreams and helped me to work it out practically. The most valuable teaching, my dad gave is:
“To Realize Your Inner Strength & Challenge Yourself, Every Single Day.”
I had the freedom of thought, speech, and actions, even my in-laws and my husband supported me in everything that I did.
To achieve your dreams, you need strong family support, unconditional love, and freedom of expression.
I am thankful to have a family like this.

*According to you what is a teacher?*

Teachers are the foundation to make a good and balanced generation. We hold the utmost responsibility to serve our nation, as we have the roots in our hands. We are the actual nurturers of this Garden.
A teacher plays a vital role in molding a child’s entire personality. We believe that a teacher is not just performing a job as an individual, but she works for a noble cause. A teacher should be proud of the duty she performs; she is a mother-like figure, making school a second home for kids.

We teachers should believe in ourselves and have a vision to make the best generation only then we can work towards our goal. A teacher is not only to teach what is given in the book or in the syllabus. We should not set boundaries around ourselves, limited to only the syllabus, as actual teaching is beyond the syllabus and only a teacher can do it, but for that, we have to go the extra mile. I think we should go for that extra mile, as only then; we will be able to serve the actual purpose of being a teacher.
