3. Teaching Through Games/Activities

Here are some games and activities to teach kids about body parts.

1. Point To The Body Part:

Say the name of any body part, and your child has to point to or touch that part.

For example, if you will say, “Touch your nose”, your child has to touch their nose.

2. Name The Body Part:

Make it a daily habit to pick up a newspaper or a magazine, show your child one human image in it, point to their body part, and ask your child to tell the name of that part.

3. Guess The Name:

In this game, you will tell your child the function of body parts, and they have to guess the name of that body part.

For example, ask your child, “We smell with the help of our ____?” and your child has to give the correct answer, which is “nose”.

4. Mirror Play:

Stand with your child in front of the mirror and start pointing to your body parts.

Say the name of one body part, point towards it, and encourage your child to do the same.

5. Circle The Body Parts:

Give your child a storybook on body parts to read.

Ask them to circle all the body parts they come across while reading the story.

6. Draw And Colour:

Ask your child to draw different parts of the body, like the nose, eyes, ears, lips, etc.

Also, ask them to colour these body parts.

7. Write The Name:

Take out a print of the body parts chart without their names.

If your child can write, ask them to write the name of each body part, or else ask them the name, and you can write the name of the body part for them.
