What is Honesty?

Honesty means telling the truth, even if it's hard.


Why is Honesty Important?

Honesty helps us:

1. Build Trust: 

When we tell the truth, people believe us.

2. Feel Happy: 

Honesty makes us feel proud and happy.

3. Make Good Choices: 

Honesty helps us make good choices and do the right thing.


Examples of Honesty:

1. Telling the Truth: 

If we break something, we say "I did it."

2. Returning Something: 

If we take something that doesn't belong to us, we return it.


3. Saying Sorry: 

If we hurt someone, we say "I'm sorry."

What Can We Do to Practice Honesty?

1. Tell the Truth: 

Always tell the truth, even if it's hard.


2. Admit Our Mistakes: 

If we make a mistake, we say "I'm sorry."


3. Be Kind: 

We treat others the way we want to be treated.

Let's Be Honest!

By telling the truth and being honest, we become trustworthy friends and good people!


This explanation uses simple language and concepts to introduce kindergarten students to the importance of honesty.


STORY

Benny's Broken Cookie Jar


Benny loved cookies, and his mom had just baked a fresh batch. While Benny was getting a cookie, he accidentally knocked over the cookie jar, breaking it into pieces.


Benny was afraid to tell his mom what happened, so he tried to clean up the mess without saying anything.


But Benny's mom saw the broken jar and asked Benny, "Benny, did you break the cookie jar?"


At first, Benny didn't want to tell the truth. But then he remembered what his mom had told him about honesty.


Benny took a deep breath and said, "Yes, Mommy, I broke the cookie jar. I'm sorry."


Benny's mom smiled and said, "It's okay, Benny. We can always clean up and get a new jar. But I'm proud of you for telling the truth."


Benny felt happy and relieved that he had told the truth.

Activity ideas

1. Telling the Truth:

Act out scenarios where students have to tell the truth, even if it's hard.



2. Truth or Lie:

Play a simple game where students have to identify whether a statement is true or false.

3. Truthful Pictures

Have students draw pictures of times when they told the truth or did something honest.



4. Honesty Bingo: 

Create bingo cards with different honesty-related scenarios. Call out each scenario and have students mark the corresponding square.

Chandipura Virus Symptoms & Precautions

 Chandipura Virus Chandipura virus, aka Chandipura vesiculovirus (CHPV), is an RNA virus belonging to the Rhabdoviridae family, which also includes the rabies virus. It was first identified in 1965 in Chandipura, a village in Maharashtra. The virus primarily affects children and has been associated with outbreaks of acute encephalitis in India. Encephalitis is inflammation of the active tissues of the brain caused by an infection or an autoimmune response. The inflammation causes the brain to swell, which can lead to headache, stiff neck, sensitivity to light, mental confusion and seizures. This disease occurs by the sting of a vector-infected sand-fly and it mainly affects children aged 9 months - 14 years.  Chandipura virus is a serious pathogen with a rapid onset of severe symptoms, primarily affecting children in certain regions.  However, this disease is not contagious.
