Pat - A - Cake - Finger Play



1. Pat-a-cake:

Hold up your hands and clap them together to mimic patting a cake.

2. Pat it:

Pat your hands together again.

3. Mark it with a "B":

Make a "B" shape with your fingers.

4. Put it in the oven:

Mimic putting something in the oven by making a sweeping motion with your arm.

5. Take it out:

Mimic taking something out of the oven by making another sweeping motion.

Rhyme:(Sing to the traditional tune)

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake, baker's man,Bake me a cake as fast as you can.Pat it and prick it and mark it with a "B",Put it in the oven for baby and me!

Tips and Variations:1. Use props:

Use a toy oven or baking utensils to enhance the finger play experience.

2. Create a story:

Encourage children to create their own story about baking a cake.

3. Act it out:

Act out the rhyme with the children, using gestures and movements to mimic baking a cake.
