The Tortoise and the Hare
Story: The Tortoise and the Hare
Once upon a time, in a sunny meadow, there lived a speedy hare named Harry. Harry loved to run and boast about how fast he was.
One day, Harry met a slow-moving tortoise named Terry. Terry was taking a leisurely stroll, enjoying the flowers and the warm sun.
Harry laughed at Terry and said, "You're so slow! I can run faster than you any day!"
Terry looked up at Harry and said, "I may be slow, but I'm steady. I'll challenge you to a race!"
Harry thought this was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard. "A race? Ha! I'll win for sure!"
The two agreed to meet at the starting line the next day. Harry showed up early, stretching his long legs and boasting about his speed.
Terry arrived on time, wearing a big smile on his face. The two took off, and Harry sprinted ahead, laughing and teasing Terry.
But as Harry ran, he got tired and decided to take a nap. "I'll just rest for a bit," he thought. "I'll still win easily."
Meanwhile, Terry kept moving steadily, one slow step at a time. He didn't stop or take a break. He just kept going.
When Harry woke up, he saw Terry crossing the finish line! Harry couldn't believe it. "How did you win?" he asked.
Terry smiled and said, "I may be slow, but I'm steady and determined. You should never underestimate others or take things for granted."
Moral:
Harry learned a valuable lesson that day: it's not about being the fastest or the strongest; it's about being steady, determined, and kind.
