Parenting - Work In Progress

Image
Hey Mom Harsha,  I tried everything that you mentioned. Patience, self-talk, everything but nothing works. My children are still stubborn, and don't listen to me. throw tantrums etc etc etc etc. What to do? Well, Rome was not built in a day. So, miracles will take time. Not in 1 week, not in 1 month, they will take time.  You have to be consistent, consistent and  believe me, results will come. One - Mantra  There is no such thing as Perfect Parenting if you understand this half of our problems will automatically vanish. The problem is when we want to be perfect.  Parenting is a journey, an ongoing process, where you solve one problem another arises. Self-Talk

Talk to yourself with Respect & Belief :  Self-Talk is a part of our day-to-day lives almost every moment We are participating in some sort of talk either with ourselves or others. Self-Talk is a conscious process to rebuild your system &  it's a very automatic process. In today's life, depression and stress are becoming normal. There is a lot of negativity all around us & so  positive self-talk will help. Children are growing up with this negativity, which affects their mental & emotional life.  I nfusing positive ideas is the best way to help them lead a better life. Sub-Conscious Mind  : Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality - Earl Nightingale The way we talk to ourselves becomes our INNER VOICE. Parents always use the word NO more often than YES .  This affects the child's mind because he is dealing with more than 100 or 200 NO'S in a single day. ...

What children want from us ?

Hear me, don’t stop me when I’m talking. Communication between two people is the foundation of any relationship, and when it comes to children communication is the most important factor. What is communication ?? The act of sharing or exchanging information, ideas, or feelings.  It is a two-way mode, usually when the conversation is between parent and child, mostly the ratio is 80:20 -  80% PARENT and 20% CHILD. This needs to be modified or to be more precise, the proportion should be reversed. 80% child - 20% parent.  If we develop a habit to listen more to what our children say, we will be able to understand our children better. Children want to be heard out, without any questions, advice, or judgements. What we do is - when a child is sharing something, we interrupt in between start questioning, giving advice, making judgments, and hastily jumping on to conclusions. In this haste, we forget to understand the child's actual essence of sharing. This attitude i...

How should a child's day start?

Image
How should a child's day start? The beginning of the day is very important for everyone. It's the start that sets up the tone for the entire day. The morning routine should be planned properly. Moms should wake up 10 minutes before the child -  Why -  because a mom needs to set up herself before the child wakes up. 1. Open your eyes 2. Wear a smile 3. Look at your child. 4. Get up and sit on the bed 5. Take a deep breath. 6.  In your mind ,  t hink about the day ahead 7.  Move around in the house and Switch on the lights wherever required. 8. Take a glance at nature, it is rejuvenating.  • Wake up call at least 1.5 hours before school time. • Wake-up calls by parents should be cool and calm. The points mentioned below are difficult and may seem unpractical but regular practice, patience, consistency, and faith will make it work. Calling by pet names works best. Softly touch your child's forehead, kiss, and hug. Whisper good morning, slowly take off t...

We Cannot Control Everything.

Mental peace is the most important in today's fast-paced life. There are many things that we deal with in 24 hours. We play multiple roles each day. We have targets to meet, and our minds are continuously in work mode. At the end of the day, we are literally drained out. We must learn to balance work, home duties, personal life, and self-life. Periodically, we have to remind ourselves that striking a balance is very important. If any one segment is overloaded, it will eventually affect the other segment. 3 Things To Quit Now - 1. Trying to please everyone. 2. Overthinking. 3. Fearing Change Why do we have to quit these 3 things? Let's understand ?? Trying to please everyone - It's a human tendency, specifically a feminine tendency, to have this continuous feeling of pleasing everyone. We want everyone around us should be happy, and we try our best to create an environment that is happy always.  Let's pause here and think about what cost are we doing this ??   In this co...

M - Mind your thoughts Thoughts can be our best friends or our worst enemies. everything that comes out in this world is the first thought in the mind. Thoughts carry a vibration and further become words. Right thoughts create the right vocabulary, and negative thoughts create a negative vocabulary. Thoughts continuously keep flowing in our minds, we have to be alert and keep minding our thoughts. we have to learn to program our minds to think right. I - Invest Time in understanding your thoughts Thought is like clouds in the sky, they keep coming and moving in our minds.  We have to learn to first understand our thoughts, once we start understanding our thoughts, we will then be able to sort them into positive and negative brackets. Do not stop the thought coming in, allow it to flow but understand the thought, this will help you become relaxed. N - Notice Find some time, periodically in a day when you are in a silent zone. 10minutes.  In this period stay away from gad...

It takes a Strong Person to be a Single Parent  &  take charge of Performing 2 Roles.   Girls life is divided into four relations daughter, sister, wife, and mother When I was born my father treated me like his son, he lovingly used to call me  "Munna" which is used for boys. He tried to fulfill my wishes as well as my demands. But when I was just 6 years old my father expired I had an elder sister of 8 years and a younger brother of 1 year. My mother was not educated so she couldn't get any white-collar job, she started working at the hospital as Aaya and also used to work at people's houses to fulfill our daily necessities like food and education. No one was there to take care of my one year brother so my elder sister sacrificed her studies to take care of my brother.  But when I was in 6th std my sister died as she was suffering from high diabetes. But as we know life never stops me and my brother growing up. I completed my graduation and started doing th...
